This year, my daughter started Kindergarten.
It’s the beginning of her school journey — one that will hopefully take her through the next seven years at Nareena Hills Primary School.
Like many small local schools, it’s close-knit, supportive and community-driven. The kind of place where kids grow not just academically, but socially and emotionally too.
One of the most loved spaces in the school is the handball court area. It’s where friendships are built, confidence grows, and energy gets burned off at recess and lunch. It’s one of those simple but important parts of primary school life.
This year, the school’s Colour Run fundraiser is raising money to resurface and upgrade those courts — making them safer and more enjoyable for every student.
As a parent, and as a local business owner, I wanted to contribute in a way that felt meaningful and aligned with what I do.

That’s how the Grow Together Planter came about.
It’s a self-watering planter designed to nurture growth — at home and in our community. For the next 30 days, $10 from every planter sold will go directly toward the school’s Colour Run fundraiser.
Nareena Hills is a small school, and every contribution makes a difference. I’d love to see all the kids benefit from upgraded courts — not just this year, but for the years to come.
If you’ve supported Vessela before, thank you. And if you choose to support this initiative, thank you again.
Let’s help young roots grow strong — in our homes and on the playground.
